This Galentine’s Day blog post is for you. You poetic, noble land-mermaid!
Today… February 13, women everywhere (I hope!) are gathering together to celebrate Galentine’s Day. First introduced in 2010 by character Leslie Knope on the TV show Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is about “ladies celebrating ladies” be they friends, co-workers, family members, or personal heroes.
What began as a fictional holiday for women to honor other women has merged into real life as more women learn about and celebrate this happy day. In honor of Galentine’s Day, the GCP Model Team & I took a trip to Just Cupcakes in Virginia Beach to celebrate! So much fun! YUMMMMY cupcakes!
Let me start out by saying… the head baker, Stephanie…AWESOME human! {psst…she’s been on Cupcake Wars!!} I reached out to her when we had the idea, and of course all things COVID, I wanted to respect her establishment and the CDC rules. She was MORE than accommodating & even had some personalized cupcakes ready just for the team! The shop is ah-dorable, the staff was amazing and the cupcakes…. yummmmm! Y’all… the Nutella cupcake… Oh. Emm. Gee!! I highly, HIGHLY recommend a trip down!! You won’t be disappointed.
Social media data is showing that Galentine’s Day just might be the best day of the year for many people. For those who are not feeling the romance of Valentine’s Day this year, get together with your gals and make it a Galentine’s Day!!
